简介
The SULT2A1 protein utilizes PAPS for critical sulfonation of steroids and bile acids in the liver and adrenal glands. Its multifunctional activity extends to a variety of compounds, enhancing its water solubility to facilitate renal excretion. SULT2A1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived SULT2A1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SULT2A1, or sulfotransferase 2A1, is a member of the sulfotransferase enzyme family, which plays a crucial role in the metabolism of various steroids, hormones, drugs, and xenobiotics through the process of sulfation. This enzyme is primarily expressed in the liver, adrenal glands, and other tissues, making it significant for both detoxification and the regulation of physiological processes. Alterations in SULT2A1 activity have been linked to several pathological conditions, including hormone-related cancers and metabolic disorders, highlighting its potential as a biomarker for disease states. The study of recombinant SULT2A1 protein is essential for understanding its catalytic mechanisms, substrate specificity, and interactions with small molecules. Moreover, producing this enzyme in a recombinant form facilitates the development of in vitro assays for drug metabolism studies and the screening of potential inhibitors or activators. Understanding SULT2A1's structure-function relationships through recombinant protein studies may also reveal insights into its regulatory mechanisms and therapeutic targets, paving the way for novel intervention strategies in diseases associated with dysregulated sulfation processes. As research progresses, recombinant SULT2A1 could provide valuable information for drug discovery, personalized medicine, and the assessment of environmental toxins’ effects on human health.
