Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase-1 (SCD1) is a pivotal enzyme in lipid metabolism, responsible for the conversion of saturated fatty acids into monounsaturated fatty acids, specifically converting stearoyl-CoA into oleoyl-CoA. This enzymatic action plays a significant role in maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and is implicated in various metabolic processes, including adipogenesis, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation. Given the rising prevalence of obesity and related metabolic disorders, SCD1 has garnered substantial research attention as a potential therapeutic target. Recombinant SCD1 proteins facilitate in-depth studies of its structure-function relationships, enzymatic mechanisms, and regulatory pathways. By producing SCD1 in a controlled laboratory setting, researchers can investigate its interactions with substrates, inhibitors, and other ligands, providing insights into its role in metabolic diseases. Additionally, understanding SCD1's function could aid in developing novel treatments aimed at modulating lipid profiles in pathological conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Studies involving recombinant SCD1 are crucial for elucidating its physiological significance and exploring potential pharmacological interventions that could leverage its activity to promote better metabolic health.
