  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

RANKL (Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor κB Ligand), also known as TNFSF11 (Tumor Necrosis Factor Superfamily Member 11), plays a crucial role in bone metabolism and immune response. It is a cytokine that primarily regulates osteoclastogenesis—the process by which bone-resorbing osteoclasts are formed from precursor cells. The interaction of RANKL with its receptor RANK, found on osteoclast precursors, is fundamental for the differentiation, activation, and survival of osteoclasts, which are essential for bone remodeling. Dysregulation of the RANKL/RANK signaling pathway is implicated in various bone diseases, such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and bone metastasis. Research on recombinant RANKL protein has gained prominence as it provides vital insights into the molecular mechanisms of osteoclastogenesis and offers potential therapeutic avenues for treating bone-related disorders. Additionally, recombinant RANKL is used in in vitro studies to generate osteoclasts for research purposes, enhancing our understanding of bone biology and the pathophysiology of osteoclast-mediated diseases. The study of RANKL/TNFSF11 recombinant proteins could lead to innovative treatments that target RANKL signaling, potentially ameliorating conditions characterized by excessive bone loss or insufficient bone remodeling. As research progresses, elucidating the structure-function relationships, regulatory mechanisms, and therapeutic implications of RANKL will be pivotal in developing effective strategies for managing bone-related illnesses and improving patient outcomes.
