MAG/Siglec-4a

简介
MAG/Siglec-4a protein mediates myelin cell-neuron interactions by binding to gangliosides, RTN4R, and RTN4RL2. It maintains normal axonal myelination and protects motor neurons from apoptosis following injury. MAG/Siglec-4a Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His, solution) is the recombinant mouse-derived MAG/Siglec-4a protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Magnetic (MAG) and sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 4A (Siglec-4a) are essential components in understanding the immune system and neurological health. MAG, a member of the myelin-associated glycoprotein family, plays a critical role in the formation and maintenance of the myelin sheath, which is essential for proper neural signal transmission. It has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, where its interaction with axons can affect nerve protection and regeneration. On the other hand, Siglec-4a, known for its capacity to bind sialic acids, is predominantly expressed in immune cells and modulates immune responses via its inhibitory signaling pathways. Research has shown that the interaction between MAG and Siglec-4a may influence neuroinflammation and immune regulation in the central nervous system. Investigating the recombinant proteins of MAG and Siglec-4a offers insights into their functional roles and potential therapeutic applications. Understanding these proteins' interactions can pave the way for novel treatment strategies targeting neurological diseases and immune-related conditions. This research highlights the significance of the MAG/Siglec-4a axis in modulating both neuronal and immune responses, underscoring their potential as biomarkers and therapeutic targets in clinical settings.
