Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Siglec-E

  • 简介

Siglec-E Protein is a mouse orthologue of human Siglec-9 and functions as a key immunosuppressive checkpoint molecule. Siglec-E interacts with CD36 to inhibits downstream VAV signaling involved in modified LDL uptake, thereby delaying atherosclerosis. The endogenous inducible Siglec-E plays crucial anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective roles following ischemic stroke. Siglec-E Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived Siglec-E protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag.

  • Application

  • Biological Activity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse Siglec-E at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind biotinylated Mouse Galectin-3. The ED50 for this effect is 0.2-0.8 μg/mL. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse Siglec-E at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind biotinylated Mouse Galectin-3, The ED50 for this effect is 0.2911 μg/mL.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Siglec-E, a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family, plays a significant role in the immune response, particularly in the regulation of inflammation and the modulation of innate immune cells. It is primarily expressed on myeloid cells, where it aids in the recognition of sialylated glycoproteins and glycolipids, influencing cellular interactions and responses. The study of Siglec-E has gained attention due to its potential implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and cancer, where its modulation could either enhance or suppress immune function. Recent research has focused on the characterization of Siglec-E, exploring its ligand specificity and signaling pathways. Furthermore, recombinant Siglec-E proteins are being developed for use in therapeutic applications and disease diagnostics, allowing for targeted approaches to immune modulation and treatment. Understanding the mechanistic roles of Siglec-E in immune regulation enhances our knowledge of immune system dynamics and opens avenues for novel therapeutic strategies aimed at harnessing this molecule for clinical benefit.
