  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The study of SLPI (Secretory Leukocyte Protease Inhibitor) recombinant protein is grounded in its significant role in the innate immune system. SLPI is a 14 kDa protein primarily produced by epithelial cells and is known for its ability to inhibit serine proteases, which are enzymes that can cause tissue damage during inflammatory responses. Its protective functions are critical in conditions such as respiratory infections, where it plays a pivotal role in maintaining mucosal integrity and modulating immune responses. Research has revealed that SLPI not only protects tissues from enzymatic degradation but also possesses antimicrobial properties and can influence the activity of immune cells. Given its multifaceted role in pathophysiological processes, including chronic inflammatory diseases and certain cancers, there is considerable interest in the potential therapeutic applications of SLPI. The recombinant production of SLPI allows for detailed structural and functional studies, enabling researchers to explore its mechanisms of action, develop SLPI-based therapeutics, and expand our understanding of its role in disease modulation. Moreover, the recombinant technology enhances the availability and purity of SLPI, making it a valuable tool for both basic research and clinical applications.
