Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Lipocalin-2, also known as Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL), is a 25-kDa protein belonging to the lipocalin family, primarily involved in the innate immune response. It is secreted by various cell types, including neutrophils, epithelial cells, and adipocytes, and plays a crucial role in iron metabolism and inflammation. Elevated levels of Lipocalin-2/NGAL have been associated with several pathological conditions, such as acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, obesity, and certain cancers, making it a critical biomarker for these diseases. Research on recombinant Lipocalin-2/NGAL has gained traction due to its potential therapeutic applications. Recombinant protein production enables detailed studies of its biological functions, including its role in modulating immune responses, cell survival, and apoptosis. By understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Lipocalin-2/NGAL’s actions, researchers aim to develop novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions targeting various diseases. Moreover, investigations into the protein's structural characteristics and interactions with other biomolecules provide insights into its functional specificity and potential for clinical use. Overall, the study of recombinant Lipocalin-2/NGAL emphasizes its significance in biomedical research, highlighting its dual role as both a biomarker and a therapeutic target, thereby opening new avenues for the management of inflammation-related diseases and improving patient outcomes.
