  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Kallikrein-14 (KLK14) is a member of the kallikrein-related peptidase family, which consists of serine proteases involved in various physiological processes, including tissue remodeling and inflammation. The gene encoding KLK14 is located on chromosome 19 and is known to play a significant role in the regulation of extracellular matrix components, thereby influencing cell proliferation and migration. Recent studies have highlighted its potential involvement in various diseases, particularly in cancer and dermatological conditions, where aberrant KLK14 expression is often observed. Given its unique substrate specificity and functional characteristics, KLK14 has attracted interest as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. Research efforts have focused on understanding its enzymatic mechanisms, structural biology, and interactions with other proteins. The recombinant expression of KLK14 allows for detailed studies on its biochemical functions and therapeutic applications. By characterizing KLK14 through recombinant protein techniques, researchers aim to unravel its functional roles in health and disease, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies in conditions characterized by dysregulated kallikrein activity. Such studies are crucial for developing targeted interventions and enhancing our understanding of KLK14’s biological significance, providing insights into its potential as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
