简介
The KLC2 protein is a key kinesin-1 complex component that is essential for the generation of microtubule-associated forces and organelle transport. Its light chain facilitates the coupling of cargo to the heavy chain and regulates ATPase activity. KLC2 Protein, Human (sf9, His-GST) is the recombinant human-derived KLC2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His, N-GST labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
KLC2, or Kinesin Light Chain 2, is a member of the kinesin superfamily of motor proteins that play crucial roles in intracellular transport. Research on KLC2 has gained significant attention due to its essential functions in neuronal development, synaptic function, and cellular signaling. KLC2 forms a heterodimer with kinesin heavy chains, facilitating the transport of cellular cargo along microtubules, which is vital for maintaining cellular organization and communication. Abnormalities in KLC2 expression or function have been linked to neurodegenerative diseases and other disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. Furthermore, KLC2's role in various cellular processes, including cell migration and division, is under investigation to understand its broader implications in health and disease. The development of recombinant KLC2 proteins has enabled researchers to study its biochemical properties, interactions with other protein partners, and the mechanistic aspects of cargo transport. This research is foundational for exploring novel interventions in diseases where kinesin-mediated transport is disrupted, promoting a deeper understanding of intracellular dynamics in both normal and pathological states.
