简介
ANGPTL8, a blood lipid regulator, controls serum triglyceride levels and orchestrates metabolic transitions during fasting and refeeding. Its role involves directing fatty acid storage in adipose tissue during the fed state. Though its precise mechanism is not fully understood, ANGPTL8 has been suggested to promote ANGPTL3 cleavage, interacting with ANGPTL3 for regulatory functions in lipid metabolism. ANGPTL8/Angiopoietin-like 8 Protein, Mouse (H40A, Q44A, Q47A, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived ANGPTL8/Angiopoietin-like 8 protein, expressed by E. coli , with C-6*His labeled tag and H40A, Q44A, Q47A inactivating mutations[1].

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ANGPTL8 (Angiopoietin-like 8) is a member of the angiopoietin-like protein family, which plays a critical role in regulating lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and energy expenditure. Research has shown that ANGPTL8 acts as a crucial mediator of the effects of insulin and is significantly involved in the regulation of triglyceride levels by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity. This modulation is particularly important in the context of obesity and metabolic disorders, as elevated ANGPTL8 levels have been associated with insulin resistance and increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. The recombinant protein form of ANGPTL8 has become a focus of scientific investigation, aiming to explore its biological functions and therapeutic potential. Studies utilizing recombinant ANGPTL8 can help elucidate its mechanistic pathways and interactions with other metabolic regulators. Moreover, understanding its role in lipid metabolism might offer novel insights for developing targeted therapies for metabolic syndromes, including type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia. Consequently, the characterization and functional analysis of recombinant ANGPTL8 are essential for advancing our knowledge of its physiological significance and potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in metabolic diseases.
