简介
The HE4/WFDC2 protein is a homotrimeric broad-spectrum protease inhibitor that regulates food intake, energy expenditure, and body weight in response to metabolic and toxin-induced stress. As a brainstem-restricted receptor, it binds to GDF15 and interacts with RET, activating MAPK and AKT signaling pathways. HE4/WFDC2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived HE4/WFDC2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
HE4, also known as WFDC2 (Whey Acidic Protein Four Disulfide Core), is a member of the WAP (Whey Acidic Protein) family of proteins, and it has garnered significant attention in cancer research, particularly in ovarian cancer. Initially identified as a marker for epithelial ovarian cancer, HE4 is linked to tumor growth and progression and has been shown to be overexpressed in various malignancies. The study of HE4/WFDC2 recombinant proteins aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying its role in cancer biology and to develop potential therapeutic applications. Due to its unique structure, which includes four disulfide bonds, HE4 exhibits stability that makes it a prime candidate for further research. The production of recombinant HE4/WFDC2 allows for detailed biochemical and functional studies, contributing to a better understanding of its interactions with other proteins and its role in the tumor microenvironment. These studies can provide insights into its potential as a biomarker for early cancer detection and as a therapeutic target. Furthermore, the exploration of HE4's role in immune modulation opens new avenues for cancer immunotherapy, making it an exciting focus in the field of oncological research. Overall, the research on HE4/WFDC2 recombinant proteins represents a vital intersection of molecular biology and clinical application, paving the way for advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
