简介
SP-D Protein (SP-D) enhances lung defense against microorganisms, antigens, and toxins. It interacts with lipopolysaccharides, oligosaccharides, and fatty acids, influencing immune responses.SP-D is involved in pulmonary surfactant turnover, maintaining lung homeostasis. It has a strong affinity for maltose residues and alpha-glucosyl moieties.Structurally, SP-D forms an oligomeric complex of homotrimers for effective pulmonary defense.SP-D Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived SP-D protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Surfactant Protein D (SP-D) is a crucial component of the innate immune system, primarily found in the lungs and other epithelial tissues. It plays a vital role in the clearance of pathogens and the regulation of immune responses. SP-D functions by binding to various microbial pathogens, enhancing phagocytosis, and modulating inflammatory processes. Research into recombinant SP-D (rSP-D) has gained attention due to its potential therapeutic applications in respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary infections. The ability to produce rSP-D in a laboratory setting enables scientists to study its structure-function relationships and mechanisms of action more extensively. Recent advances in biotechnology, including expression systems for producing rSP-D, have opened new avenues for understanding its role in lung health and disease. The recombinant protein can also serve as a tool for developing novel therapeutic strategies aimed at augmenting innate immunity or restoring defective surfactant functionality in various pulmonary disorders. As research continues to unravel the complexities of SP-D, the potential for recombinant SP-D as a therapeutic agent in improving lung function and combating respiratory diseases becomes increasingly promising.
