简介
SRP54 is an important component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex that drives co-translational targeting of secreted proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). SRP54 cooperates with the SRP receptor (SR) component SRPRA to bind to signal sequences on emerging ribosomal proteins. SRP54 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived SRP54 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SRP54, a key component of the Signal Recognition Particle (SRP), is essential for the targeting and translocation of nascent proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in eukaryotic cells. The SRP complex, composed of RNA and proteins, recognizes signal peptides on nascent polypeptides emerging from ribosomes and facilitates their co-translational insertion into the ER membrane. Understanding SRP54 is critical for elucidating the mechanisms of protein transport, which is fundamental for cellular function and the maintenance of homeostasis. Moreover, defects in SRP54 or the SRP pathway can lead to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Recent studies have focused on the structural and functional characterization of SRP54, revealing its interactions with SRP RNA and other protein components of the SRP complex. Biochemical assays and crystallography have provided insights into its role in forming a stable SRP-ribosome-nascent chain complex. Additionally, research into the potential therapeutic applications of manipulating SRP54 function has emerged, highlighting its importance in developing strategies to tackle diseases associated with protein misfolding and trafficking. Understanding SRP54’s mechanisms and interactions not only enhances our knowledge of fundamental cellular processes but also opens avenues for innovative therapeutic interventions.
