简介
The FTCD protein is a folate-dependent enzyme with dual functions of transferase and deaminase activities. It plays a crucial role in directing the one-carbon units from methyliminoglutamic acid into the folate pool, contributing to the regulation of folate metabolism. FTCD Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived FTCD protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
FTCD (Formiminotransferase-Cyclodeaminase) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the metabolism of histidine, an essential amino acid. Research on FTCD focuses on its involvement in the folate metabolism pathway and its significance in the synthesis of purines and nucleotides. Mutations in the FTCD gene can lead to a rare metabolic disorder known as formiminoglutamic aciduria, characterized by the accumulation of formiminoglutamic acid in the urine and associated neurological symptoms. Understanding the structure and function of FTCD is essential for elucidating the biochemical mechanisms underlying these metabolic disorders. Recombinant FTCD protein has been produced for detailed functional studies, enabling researchers to explore its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and interaction with other metabolic pathways. This knowledge paves the way for potential therapeutic strategies for metabolic conditions linked to FTCD deficiency and enhances our overall understanding of amino acid metabolism. Additionally, FTCD may serve as a potential biomarker for certain diseases, emphasizing the need for ongoing research in this area.
