Gene name
SBDS

简介
The SBDS protein is indispensable for ribosome biogenesis and cooperates with EFL1 to trigger GTP-dependent EIF6 release from 60S preribosomes in the cytoplasm. This activates ribosomes, allowing 80S ribosome assembly and recycling of EIF6 to the nucleus. SBDS Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived SBDS protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SBDS (Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome) is a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in the SBDS gene, leading to notable hematological, pancreatic, and skeletal abnormalities. Research into SBDS recombinant proteins has gained significant importance due to the need for a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the syndrome. The SBDS protein is crucial for ribosome biogenesis and proper cellular function, and its dysfunction is linked to ribosomopathies and cancer predisposition. Studies suggest that SBDS plays a vital role in the maturation of 40S ribosomal subunits and the response to cellular stress. By producing recombinant SBDS proteins in heterologous systems, researchers aim to elucidate the protein's structure-function relationship, interactions with other cellular components, and the effects of specific mutations on its activity. Furthermore, characterizing SBDS recombinant proteins can facilitate the development of potential therapeutic strategies, including gene therapy and small molecules aimed at restoring normal SBDS function. Given the multifaceted impact of SBDS on cellular processes, ongoing research is essential for identifying disease mechanisms and improving outcomes for affected individuals. Understanding the biochemical properties of SBDS proteins not only enhances our knowledge of Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome but also contributes to the broader field of ribosomopathy research.
