简介
KGF/FGF-7 Protein, Human (CHO) is a polypeptide mitogen that belongs to the family of fibroblast growth factors, binds only to a splice variant of FGFR2 (FGFR2 IIIb) and is a highly specific paracrine growth factor for epithelial cells. KGF/FGF-7 Protein and its receptor are important for normal wound healing.

-
Biological Activity
The ED50 is <1 ng /mL as measured in a cell proliferation assay using 4MBr5 cells. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using 4MBr-5 rhesus monkey epithelial cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.9698 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 1.031×106 units/mg.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
KGF (keratinocyte growth factor) and FGF-7 (fibroblast growth factor 7) are key members of the FGF family, playing crucial roles in wound healing, hair growth, and epithelial cell proliferation. They primarily function by promoting the survival and proliferation of keratinocytes, which are essential for skin regeneration and repair. Understanding their mechanisms can lead to advancements in regenerative medicine and therapies for skin conditions. Previous studies have highlighted their potential in treating disorders characterized by impaired epithelial repair and have shown promising results in preclinical models. The recombinant production of KGF/FGF-7 allows for the exploration of their therapeutic applications in a more controlled and efficient manner, facilitating investigations into their dosage, efficacy, and safety profiles. Furthermore, the development of these recombinant proteins has implications for clinical settings, including dermatology and plastic surgery, where enhancing wound healing and tissue regeneration is critical. Ongoing research aims to optimize their formulation and delivery methods to maximize their bioactivity and therapeutic outcomes, thereby paving the way for innovative treatments for a variety of skin-related ailments and procedures.
