  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Fibroblast growth factor 18 (FGF-18) is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including embryonic development, tissue repair, and cellular proliferation. It is particularly significant in the development of cartilage and bone, making it a focal point of research in regenerative medicine and orthopedic applications. Studies have indicated that FGF-18 promotes the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes, the cells responsible for cartilage formation, suggesting its potential in treating osteoarthritis and other cartilage-related disorders. Additionally, FGF-18 has been shown to enhance the repair of articular cartilage and stimulate the formation of new bone in preclinical models. Given the increasing incidence of degenerative joint diseases and the limitations of current treatments, the exploration of FGF-18 as a therapeutic agent has garnered considerable interest. Researchers are investigating the mechanisms by which FGF-18 exerts its effects, as well as its potential applications in the development of biologically-based therapies for joint regeneration and repair. Understanding the full scope of FGF-18's biological activities could lead to novel interventions that not only alleviate symptoms but also address underlying pathologies in musculoskeletal disorders. This burgeoning field of study underscores the significance of FGF-18 and recombinant proteins in advancing stem cell therapies and tissue engineering strategies aimed at restoring function in damaged joints.
