Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Protein Description
ICA1 (Islet Cytoplasmic Autoantigen 1) is an autoantigen primarily associated with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), a condition characterized by autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing β-cells in the pancreas. The presence of autoantibodies against ICA1 in individuals at risk for T1D offers a window into immunological mechanisms underlying the disease. As research progressed, ICA1 was found to be crucial in studying the pathogenesis of T1D and facilitating early diagnosis and potential interventions. The recombinant forms of ICA1 are being studied to understand its structural properties, functionality, and role in the immune response that leads to β-cell destruction. Furthermore, the use of recombinant ICA1 in immunological assays enhances our ability to unravel interactions between autoantigens and autoreactive T cells, paving the way for novel immunotherapies aimed at modulating the autoimmune response.
