Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
POLQ (Polymerase Theta) is a crucial enzyme involved in DNA repair processes, particularly in the context of double-strand break (DSB) repair through a unique mechanism known as alternative end joining (A-EJ). Research into POLQ has gained significant attention due to its dual role in maintaining genomic stability and contributing to cancer cell survival. Unlike classical repair pathways, POLQ-mediated A-EJ does not require extensive homology, making it a prominent pathway for repairing DNA breaks that occur in various cellular contexts, especially under conditions of genomic stress or in cancerous cells. Studies have shown that POLQ is often upregulated in several types of cancer, leading to resistance against certain therapies, thereby positioning it as a potential therapeutic target. Understanding the structural and functional characteristics of POLQ, such as its polymerase activity and interaction with other DNA repair proteins, is essential for developing novel strategies to enhance cancer treatment. Efforts to inhibit POLQ activity can sensitize tumors to DNA-damaging agents, providing a promising avenue for improving the efficacy of existing cancer therapies. Thus, ongoing research is focused on elucidating the precise mechanisms by which POLQ contributes to DNA repair and its implications in oncogenesis and therapeutic resistance.
