Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interferon lambda 2 (IFN-λ2), also known as interleukin-28A (IL-28A), is a type III interferon that plays a crucial role in the immune response against viral infections. Research on IFN-λ2 emerged from the recognition that this cytokine shares structural similarities with type I interferons but has distinct signaling pathways and biological effects. IFN-λ2 primarily acts on cells expressing the IL-28 receptor, facilitating antiviral responses without inducing the same degree of inflammation and side effects commonly associated with type I interferons. This characteristic makes IFN-λ2 a potential therapeutic candidate for treating viral infections, particularly hepatitis C and hepatitis B, where it has been shown to enhance antiviral immunity and improve patient outcomes. The study of recombinant IFN-λ2/IL-28A focuses on its molecular mechanisms, such as its role in modulating the adaptive immunity and influencing immune cell activity. Researchers are also investigating its therapeutic applications, dosing regimens, and combination strategies with other antiviral agents. As the understanding of type III interferons, including IFN-λ2, expands, it holds promise not only for viral infections but also in the context of autoimmune diseases and cancer immunotherapy, where fine-tuning immune responses is essential.
