Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
IFT88, or Intraflagellar Transport 88, is a critical protein involved in the biogenesis and maintenance of cilia and flagella, structures that play essential roles in cellular signaling and motility. Research has highlighted its significant contributions to the intraflagellar transport (IFT) mechanism, which is crucial for the movement and assembly of ciliary components. Mutations in IFT88 are linked to various ciliopathies, genetic disorders that arise from dysfunctional cilia and affect multiple organ systems. Understanding the molecular and functional properties of IFT88 is therefore paramount for unraveling the pathophysiological mechanisms behind these conditions. The recombinant expression of IFT88 allows researchers to produce and purify the protein for detailed biochemical and structural studies, enabling investigations into its interactions with other IFT proteins and ciliary assemblies. This knowledge can provide insights into the regulation of cilia formation and maintenance, as well as identify potential therapeutic targets for ciliopathy-related diseases. The study of IFT88 at the protein level is pivotal for advancing our understanding of ciliary dynamics and the broader implications of ciliary dysfunction in human health.
