Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
OmpK36 is a porin protein found in the outer membrane of Klebsiella pneumoniae, a Gram-negative bacterium known for its clinical significance due to its association with various infections and its growing antibiotic resistance. The study of OmpK36 has gained attention as it plays a crucial role in the uptake of small hydrophilic molecules, including important antibiotics, thereby influencing the bacterial sensitivity to these drugs. Research has shown that mutations in the OmpK36 gene can lead to reduced expression or functional impairment, contributing to the bacterial resistance mechanisms. Understanding the structure and function of OmpK36 is vital for developing new therapeutic strategies and diagnostic tools, especially in the fight against multi-drug-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae. By characterizing the recombinant OmpK36 protein, researchers aim to elucidate its role in antibiotic permeability and resistance, paving the way for potential interventions to restore antibiotic efficacy. Studies involving the recombinant OmpK36 may also provide insights into the porin's interaction with various antibiotics, which is essential for understanding and mitigating the challenges posed by resistant bacterial infections in clinical settings.
