Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
EPB41, or Erythrocyte Membrane Protein Band 4.1, is a crucial component of the cytoskeleton in red blood cells, where it plays a significant role in maintaining cell shape, mechanical stability, and flexibility. Its primary function is to link integral membrane proteins, such as band 3 and glycophorin, to the underlying cytoskeletal network. Mutations in the EPB41 gene can lead to various hematological disorders, including hereditary elliptocytosis and spherocytosis, characterized by abnormal cell morphology and decreased red blood cell lifespan. Research on EPB41 recombinant protein is vital for understanding its functional mechanisms, as well as its interactions with other proteins that contribute to the integrity of the red blood cell membrane. The use of recombinant technology allows for the production of high-purity EPB41 for biochemical studies, structural analysis, and functional assays, providing insights into its role in erythropoiesis and potential therapeutic avenues for related diseases. Additionally, studying the post-translational modifications of EPB41 could elucidate how these changes affect its function and contribute to the pathophysiology of associated disorders. Given the importance of red blood cell stability in overall health, further investigation into EPB41 and its recombinant forms remains an active area of research with significant implications for diagnosing and treating blood-related diseases.
