Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
OTOA (otolin-1) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the development and function of the inner ear, particularly in the formation of the organ of Corti, which is essential for hearing. Mutations in the OTOA gene have been linked to autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss, highlighting its importance in auditory health. Recent research has focused on the characterization and functional analysis of OTOA protein, aiming to understand its molecular mechanisms and interactions within the inner ear. The study of OTOA not only provides insights into the pathophysiology of hearing loss but also opens avenues for gene therapy and regenerative medicine approaches targeted at repairing or replacing damaged auditory cells. As the prevalence of hearing impairments continues to rise globally, understanding the function of OTOA and its potential therapeutic applications has become an important area of research in biomedical science, particularly for developing novel strategies to combat hearing loss and improve the quality of life for affected individuals. The reconstitution of OTOA and its study in model systems may also facilitate the identification of potential drug targets and biomarkers for early detection of auditory disorders.
