  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a pivotal cytokine that plays a crucial role in immune regulation and host defense against pathogens and tumors. IL-12 is a heterodimeric protein composed of two subunits, p35 and p40, encoded by separate genes. The p40 subunit, often referred to as IL-12 beta, has garnered significant research interest due to its involvement in immune responses. IL-12 promotes T cell differentiation into Th1 cells, enhances the production of interferon-gamma, and stimulates cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cell activity, making it essential for combating intracellular pathogens and malignancies. Dysfunctional IL-12 signaling is implicated in various autoimmune diseases and cancers, further highlighting its relevance in immunotherapy applications. Recombinant IL-12 beta protein has been developed for therapeutic purposes, including cancer vaccines and immune modulation strategies. Studies have demonstrated that delivering IL-12 beta can enhance anti-tumor immunity and improve treatment outcomes in preclinical and clinical settings. Consequently, ongoing research is focused on optimizing the production, delivery mechanisms, and therapeutic efficacy of recombinant IL-12 beta, aiming to harness its potential to improve cancer therapies and address unmet medical needs in immunological disorders.
