  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

TRAIL (TNF-Related Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, particularly in cancer therapy. It selectively induces programmed cell death in tumor cells while sparing normal cells, making it a promising candidate for cancer treatment. The TRAIL ligand interacts with five distinct receptors, namely TRAIL-R1 to TRAIL-R4 and decoy receptor DcR1/DcR2, triggering apoptosis through the extrinsic pathway when bound to its pro-apoptotic receptors. However, many cancer cells can develop resistance to TRAIL, limiting its therapeutic efficacy. Research into TRAIL/TNFSF10 recombinant proteins focuses on enhancing its effectiveness by exploring various strategies, including combination therapies, the development of TRAIL-based agonistic antibodies, and the use of engineered variants that improve its stability and bioavailability. This line of research aims to overcome resistance mechanisms and broaden the application of TRAIL in clinical oncology, potentially integrating it into multimodal treatment approaches. The ongoing investigation into the mechanistic underpinnings of TRAIL-induced apoptosis and the development of innovative delivery methods continues to be pivotal for advancing cancer immunotherapy and improving patient outcomes.
