  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The 26 kDa secreted antigen, also known as TES-26, is a recombinant protein primarily associated with the immune response to certain parasitic infections, notably schistosomiasis. Schistosomiasis, caused by flatworms of the Schistosoma species, poses significant health challenges in tropical and subtropical regions. TES-26 has garnered attention due to its unique role as a potential biomarker for diagnosing schistosomiasis. Research has indicated that this antigen is highly immunogenic, eliciting robust antibody responses in infected individuals, which makes it a promising candidate for both vaccine development and serological tests. The exploration of TES-26 encompasses various aspects, including its expression patterns during the parasitic lifecycle, the mechanisms of host immune evasion, and its interactions with the human immune system. The recombinant production of TES-26 allows for the detailed study of its structure and function, facilitating the understanding of its potential role in protective immunity. Additionally, utilizing TES-26 in diagnostic assays could lead to improved detection rates and better management of schistosomiasis, ultimately aiding in the control and elimination efforts of this devastating disease. Given its potential applications, ongoing research aims to elucidate the precise mechanisms by which TES-26 contributes to host-parasite interactions and to evaluate its utility in both therapeutic and diagnostic contexts.
