  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BMP-2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2) is a member of the BMP family, which plays a crucial role in bone and cartilage formation, as well as tissue regeneration. Research into BMP-2 recombinant protein has gained significant attention due to its potential applications in regenerative medicine and orthopedic surgery. BMP-2 promotes the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblasts, enhancing bone healing and regeneration processes. Studies have demonstrated its efficacy in promoting bone formation, making it a beneficial agent for treating bone defects and fractures. Additionally, BMP-2 has been utilized in various biomaterials for bone grafting, improving their osteoinductive properties. However, concerns regarding the controlled delivery and dosage, as well as potential side effects such as inappropriate bone growth, highlight the need for further research. Understanding the biological mechanisms underlying BMP-2 activity and optimizing its recombinant production are critical for harnessing its therapeutic benefits while minimizing risks. Thus, ongoing studies focus on enhancing the safety and efficacy of BMP-2 applications, exploring its use in conjunction with advanced biomaterials and tissue engineering strategies to improve patient outcomes in skeletal repair and regeneration.
