  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Pentraxin 3 (PTX3), also known as TSG-14 (Tumor Necrosis Factor-Stimulated Gene 14), is an acute-phase protein that plays a significant role in the innate immune response and inflammation. It is part of the pentraxin family, characterized by its ability to bind various ligands, including pathogens and inflammatory molecules. PTX3 is primarily produced by several cell types, including macrophages and endothelial cells, in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-alpha and IL-1β. Research has shown that PTX3 exhibits a dual function by not only facilitating the clearance of pathogens but also modulating inflammatory responses, making it a key molecule in the resolution of inflammation. Its involvement in various pathological conditions, including cardiovascular diseases, sepsis, and cancer, has garnered significant interest in understanding its therapeutic potential. The recombinant form of PTX3/TSG-14 is being investigated for its possible applications in clinical settings, including as a biomarker for disease progression and a target for innovative therapeutic strategies. By elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying PTX3 functions and exploring its recombinant protein form, scientists aim to harness its potential benefits in regulating inflammation and enhancing immune responses, ultimately providing new avenues for treating inflammatory diseases and improving patient outcomes.
