  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BIRC5, also known as Survivin, is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein family, which plays a crucial role in regulating cell division and inhibiting apoptosis. Research has shown that BIRC5 is highly expressed in various cancers, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Unlike many other proteins, BIRC5 is unique due to its dual function; it not only prevents apoptosis but also regulates mitotic progression, thereby contributing to cancer cell survival and proliferation. Consequently, the study of BIRC5 recombinant proteins has garnered significant interest in the field of cancer biology and therapeutics. By generating and characterizing BIRC5 recombinant proteins, researchers aim to understand the structure-function relationships and the underlying mechanisms of its anti-apoptotic and mitotic functions. These studies could lead to the development of novel anti-cancer strategies, including the design of small molecules or antibodies that can inhibit BIRC5 activity, potentially restoring apoptosis in cancer cells. Moreover, BIRC5's expression levels have been linked to cancer prognosis, making it not only a target for therapy but also a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and treatment response. The ongoing research into BIRC5 recombinant proteins represents a promising avenue for advancing our understanding of tumor biology and developing innovative clinical applications in oncology.
