  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

COP1, or Constitutive Photomorphogenesis 1, is a key E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays an essential role in regulating plant growth and development, particularly in response to light conditions. This protein is involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, where it tags proteins for degradation, thus modulating various signaling pathways and processes such as photomorphogenesis and light responses. Research on COP1 has gained significant momentum due to its implications in not only plant biology but also broader applications in improving crop yield and stress tolerance. Understanding how COP1 interacts with different proteins and how these interactions are regulated under various environmental conditions can provide insights into the molecular mechanisms that underpin plant adaptation to their environment. Additionally, COP1's role in the degradation of light-responsive transcription factors highlights its importance in gene expression regulation. Recent studies also suggest that COP1 may be involved in stress responses and developmental regulation beyond light signals, prompting investigations into its potential applications in biotechnology for developing crops that can better withstand adverse conditions. Overall, COP1 continues to be a crucial focus in plant molecular biology, offering avenues for advancing agricultural practices and enhancing food security in the context of global climate change.
