  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MFAP1 (Microfibril-associated protein 1) is a protein that plays a significant role in the extracellular matrix, particularly in the formation and maintenance of microfibrils, which contribute to tissue elasticity and structural integrity. It is primarily expressed in connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and ligaments, where it interacts with other extracellular matrix components, including fibrillin. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of MFAP1 in various physiological processes, including wound healing and the regulation of cell-matrix interactions. Furthermore, alterations in MFAP1 expression have been linked to several pathological conditions, such as Marfan syndrome and other connective tissue disorders, suggesting its critical role in maintaining tissue homeostasis. Given its biological significance, there is a growing interest in producing recombinant MFAP1 protein to further investigate its structural properties, functional roles, and potential therapeutic applications. Recombinant protein studies can enhance our understanding of MFAP1's mechanisms in disease processes and may lead to the development of novel strategies for treating connective tissue disorders. This research may also explore the potential of MFAP1 as a biomarker for disease progression and as a target for regenerative medicine approaches. Overall, the study of MFAP1 and its recombinant forms presents a promising avenue for advancing our knowledge of extracellular matrix dynamics and improving strategies for tissue repair and regeneration.
