  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

NGEF (Neuronal Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor) is a protein that plays a crucial role in neuronal signaling by facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on Rho family GTPases, which are pivotal in regulating various cellular processes, including cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, and synaptic function. Research into NGEF has gained momentum due to its potential implications in neurological disorders and neurodevelopmental diseases. Studies have suggested that dysregulation of NGEF activity may contribute to pathologies such as autism, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease, making it a target of interest for therapeutic intervention. Additionally, the characterization of NGEF's structure and function has unveiled new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying its regulation and interaction with other cellular components. Researchers have been exploring recombinant forms of NGEF to better understand its biochemical properties and interactions, allowing for the development of models that can elucidate its operational mechanisms in various cellular contexts. The continued investigation of NGEF and its recombinant proteins is expected to provide further understanding of its role in neuronal health and disease, potentially leading to novel strategies for treatment and intervention in related neurobiological conditions.
