Cadherin-12/CDH12

简介
Cadherin-12/CDH12 is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein in the cadherin family known for its preferential homophilic interactions (binding to itself between connecting cells). This interaction is shown to play a crucial role in mediating cell adhesion and may play a key role in sorting heterogeneous cell types. Cadherin-12/CDH12 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Cadherin-12/CDH12 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Cadherin-12 (CDH12) is a member of the classical cadherin family, known for its role in cell-cell adhesion and maintaining tissue integrity. Research has increasingly focused on CDH12 due to its significance in various biological processes, including neural development, cell signaling, and cancer progression. Changes in CDH12 expression have been implicated in several pathologies, including neurodevelopmental disorders and malignant tumors, highlighting its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. CDH12's adhesive properties are primarily mediated through its extracellular domain, which interacts with similar domains on neighboring cells, forming adherens junctions. Studies have demonstrated that alterations in the function or expression of this protein can disrupt normal cellular architecture and contribute to disease states. The generation of recombinant CDH12 proteins allows researchers to investigate its structural and functional characteristics, as well as its interactions with other molecules in vitro. This research is crucial for understanding the precise mechanisms by which CDH12 influences cellular behavior and contributes to disease, paving the way for potential interventions that can modify its activities in pathological conditions.
