Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MT1A, or metallothionein 1A, is a low-molecular-weight protein that plays a crucial role in metal ion homeostasis and detoxification in cells. As a member of the metallothionein family, MT1A is particularly known for its ability to bind heavy metals such as zinc, copper, and cadmium through the thiol groups of its cysteine residues. This characteristic makes it vital in protecting cells from oxidative stress and heavy metal toxicity. The regulation of MT1A expression is influenced by various factors, including metal availability, oxidative stress, and hormonal changes, making it a key player in cellular defense mechanisms. Furthermore, research has shown correlations between MT1A expression levels and various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its potential as a biomarker for health conditions and a target for therapeutic interventions. The study of recombinant MT1A protein has advanced our understanding of its biochemical properties, structure-function relationships, and interactions with other cellular components, paving the way for potential applications in medicine and biotechnology. Overall, the investigation of MT1A offers valuable insights into essential cellular processes and provides a framework for developing novel therapeutic strategies aimed at conditions arising from metal imbalance and oxidative stress.
