Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MUC16, also known as CA125, is a cell surface glycoprotein that plays a significant role in cancer biology, particularly in ovarian cancer, where it is used as a biomarker for diagnosis and monitoring. The importance of MUC16 lies in its involvement in tumor progression, immune evasion, and cell signaling pathways. Research into recombinant MUC16 protein has gained traction due to its potential applications in immunotherapy and vaccine development. By producing MUC16 in a recombinant form, scientists aim to elucidate its structure-function relationship, enhance understanding of its role in tumor immunology, and develop targeted therapies. This protein exhibits unique properties that make it an attractive candidate for therapeutic targets, particularly given that its overexpression is often correlated with poor prognosis in cancer patients. Studies utilizing recombinant MUC16 have also paved the way for innovative diagnostic tools and personalized medicine approaches, aiming to improve patient outcomes. Understanding the biological activity and interactions of MUC16 can lead to novel strategies for combating cancers that are resistant to conventional therapies, thereby addressing a critical need in oncology research. Overall, the exploration of MUC16 as a recombinant protein continues to be a promising area that may transform the landscape of cancer treatment and management.
