  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MBP (Maltose-Binding Protein) fusion proteins are widely used in molecular biology for protein expression and purification. Originally derived from the bacterium *Escherichia coli*, MBP serves as a solubility enhancer, facilitating the proper folding of target proteins that are often difficult to express in a functional form. The fusion of MBP to a recombinant protein not only increases yield but also aids in the purification process through affinity chromatography, utilizing maltose as a binding agent. Moreover, MBP can stabilize delicate proteins, making it easier to study their structure and function. Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of MBP in enhancing the solubility and stability of various proteins, including enzymes and antibodies. Additionally, MBP can be used to facilitate downstream applications such as crystallization, where the solubility factor is crucial for obtaining high-quality crystals. Furthermore, studies have explored the use of MBP in delivering peptides and proteins into cells, underscoring its versatility beyond mere purification. Overall, the use of MBP as a fusion partner represents a significant advancement in recombinant protein technology, making it an invaluable tool in structural biology, drug design, and therapeutic protein development. The ongoing research continues to optimize MBP applications, broadening its utility in various fields, from biopharmaceuticals to enzyme engineering.
