  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

RAP80, a protein initially identified as a critical player in the DNA damage response, has gained significant attention in cancer research due to its role in maintaining genomic stability. The protein is part of the BRCA1-A complex, which is essential for the repair of DNA double-strand breaks through homologous recombination. Mutations in BRCA1 and associated proteins like RAP80 have been linked to increased susceptibility to breast and ovarian cancers. Studies have shown that RAP80 interacts with ubiquitin and plays a crucial role in the recruitment of DNA repair proteins to sites of damage, thus facilitating efficient DNA repair mechanisms. In recent years, research has also highlighted the implications of RAP80 in regulating cell cycle progression and apoptosis, underscoring its potential as a therapeutic target. Investigating RAP80's functions and interactions can provide deeper insights into the molecular pathways involved in cancer development and progression, making it a focal point for developing novel cancer treatments. Understanding the nuances of RAP80's role in genomic integrity could lead to breakthroughs in targeted therapies, especially for cancers associated with BRCA mutations, thereby improving prognosis and treatment outcomes for affected patients.
