Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ADAMTS4, a member of the disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs (ADAMTS) family, is crucial for extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, particularly in the context of cartilage degradation. Its enzymatic activity predominantly targets aggrecan, a key component of the cartilage matrix, leading to its proteolytic cleavage. This process is significantly implicated in the development and progression of osteoarthritis (OA) and other degenerative joint diseases, where the balance between aggrecan synthesis and degradation is disrupted. Research has shown that ADAMTS4 expression is upregulated in the cartilage of OA patients, highlighting its role in disease pathology. The investigation of recombinant ADAMTS4 protein has gained attention as it offers insights into the mechanisms of cartilage breakdown and potential therapeutic strategies. By studying its structure, function, and interactions with other ECM components, researchers aim to uncover novel targets for intervention, potentially leading to the development of inhibitors that could slow down or prevent cartilage degradation in OA. Thus, the study of recombinant ADAMTS4 not only enhances our understanding of cartilage biology but also aids in addressing the clinical challenges posed by arthritic conditions.
