Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PKP2, or Plakophilin-2, is a key member of the plakophilin family of proteins, which are integral components of desmosomes—cell junctions that provide structural integrity to tissues, particularly in the heart and epithelial layers. Disruptions in PKP2 expression or function have been linked to various human diseases, most notably arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a genetic condition that can lead to life-threatening arrhythmias. Given its critical role in maintaining cell-cell adhesion and cardiac stability, research into PKP2 has intensified, with scientists focusing on its biochemical properties, structural organization, and interactions with other proteins. The use of recombinant PKP2 proteins has become a crucial tool in these studies, enabling detailed investigations into its functional mechanisms and the pathological implications of its dysfunction. By creating and characterizing recombinant PKP2, researchers aim to better understand the molecular underpinnings of desmosomal integrity and the consequences of its disruption, thus paving the way for potential therapeutic strategies to combat related cardiac diseases.
