Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The research on CHRNA7, the gene encoding the alpha-7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7 nAChR), is driven by its significant role in various physiological and pathophysiological processes, including neurodevelopment, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive functions. The α7 nAChR is highly expressed in the central nervous system and is implicated in modulation of neurotransmitter release, making it a key player in cognitive functions such as learning and memory. Dysregulation of CHRNA7 has been associated with several neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. The study of recombinant CHRNA7 proteins allows researchers to investigate the receptor's structure, function, and signaling pathways in a controlled environment. Furthermore, advances in recombinant protein technology have facilitated the expression and purification of α7 nAChR, enabling detailed analyses of its pharmacological properties and interactions with various ligands. This research not only enhances our understanding of α7 nAChR in normal physiology but also provides insights into its possible roles in the pathology of neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases, paving the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating cholinergic signaling in the brain.
