Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
TMC1 (Transmembrane channel-like 1) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the mechanotransduction process within the auditory system, particularly in the function of hair cells in the inner ear. Mutations in the TMC1 gene are linked to autosomal dominant and recessive forms of hearing loss, making it a significant focus of research in the field of auditory biology and gene therapy. Understanding the structure and function of TMC1 is essential for unraveling the mechanisms of hearing and developing potential therapeutic strategies for hearing impairments. Recent studies have aimed at producing recombinant TMC1 proteins to facilitate in vitro investigations of its biophysical properties, interactions with other cellular components, and its role in ion channel activity. Furthermore, recombinant TMC1 is increasingly being utilized to explore potential avenues for gene replacement therapies or the development of pharmacological agents that could enhance or restore hearing in individuals with TMC1-related hearing loss. Hence, the production and characterization of TMC1 recombinant proteins are pivotal steps towards advancing our comprehension of auditory mechanisms and devising innovative treatments for hearing disorders.
