  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

POLd, or DNA polymerase delta, is a critical enzyme involved in DNA replication and repair processes in eukaryotic cells. Recent research has highlighted the importance of POLd in maintaining genomic stability, as it plays a vital role in leading and lagging strand synthesis during DNA replication. The enzyme operates in conjunction with other key proteins, forming a complex that ensures high fidelity and efficient replication of the genome. Given its pivotal role in cellular processes, POLd has emerged as a focal point in studies related to cancer biology, aging, and various genetic disorders. Mutations or malfunctions in POLd can lead to increased mutation rates and genomic instability, which are hallmark features of many cancers. Consequently, understanding the structure, function, and regulatory mechanisms of POLd has become crucial for developing targeted therapies and advancing the field of molecular genetics. Additionally, the exploration of POLd’s interactions with other proteins involved in DNA damage response pathways can provide insights into the cellular mechanisms that safeguard genome integrity. Recent advancements in techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography have facilitated the detailed characterization of POLd complexes, enriching our knowledge of its operational mechanics and regulatory networks. This research not only deepens our understanding of DNA replication and repair but also opens potential avenues for therapeutic interventions in diseases linked to dysregulated POLd activity.
