  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ST3GAL1, or ST3 beta-galactoside alpha-2,3-sialyltransferase 1, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the sialylation of glycoproteins and glycolipids. It catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid to galactose residues in N-linked and O-linked glycans, consequently influencing various biological processes such as cell signaling, immune response, and pathogen recognition. Dysregulation of ST3GAL1 has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer, where altered sialylation can affect tumor progression and metastasis. The study of recombinant ST3GAL1 protein serves as a valuable approach to understanding its enzymatic function, substrate specificities, and regulatory mechanisms. By producing ST3GAL1 in a recombinant system, researchers can obtain large quantities of the enzyme for biochemical studies, structure-function analyses, and the development of potential therapeutic strategies that target sialylation pathways. Additionally, investigating the properties of ST3GAL1 could provide insights into its role in normal physiological processes as well as in pathological conditions. This research is vital for uncovering novel biomarkers for disease diagnosis and for exploring targeted therapies that may improve patient outcomes in conditions associated with altered sialylation patterns.
