Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SAM (Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory protein) is a crucial protein involved in the regulation of steroid hormone synthesis. It plays a pivotal role in the transport of cholesterol into mitochondria, the first and rate-limiting step in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones, such as cortisol, aldosterone, and sex steroids. Research into SAM has gained significant attention due to its potential implications in various physiological and pathological processes, including adrenal function, reproductive health, and metabolic disorders. The understanding of SAM's structure and interaction with other regulatory proteins offers insights into how steroidogenesis is controlled at the cellular level. Moreover, alterations in SAM expression or function have been linked to endocrine disorders, highlighting its relevance in conditions like Cushing's syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and adrenal insufficiency. Investigations utilizing recombinant SAM proteins have facilitated detailed studies on its mechanism of action, leading to potential therapeutic targets for modulating steroid hormone production. As research advances, targeting SAM's pathway could provide new strategies for managing related diseases, underscoring its significance in both basic and clinical science. The ongoing exploration of SAM's role in steroidogenesis not only enhances our understanding of hormonal regulation in health and disease but also fosters the development of innovative therapies aimed at restoring normal endocrine function.
